Planning Mise-en-Scene for Perfectly Imperfect
The black shirt and shoes will give off a dark and unhappy appearance by using dark colors in various parts of the outfit. The leggings I will be wearing also give off the idea that she is lazy, as this is a comfortable outfit rather than her dressing up for the party. I am still deciding between giving wearing black pants as well, or to wear a different, lighter color to show a sign of hope in the film.
The main location my partner and I will be using is my own home, a Walmart, and a restaurant (John the Baker). We chose this restaurant because it goes with the theme of dark colors and simplicity. It highlights her isolation and messy thoughts. We are using my house to give the audience an idea of the way my character lives, as her room will be messy and her chores are not finished. The Walmart will be utilized for a shopping scene, as this store is the quickest and most convenient that comes to mind. Finally, a restaurant will be used to shoot the final scene in which it is revealed that the birthday party is no where to be found. This is the most important, as it creates suspense as the audience tries to guess what will happen next. The restaurant will preferably have a dark scenery to keep the ambience consistent throughout filming.
