Screenplay of Perfectly Imperfect

Throughout the writing process of the screenplay my partner and I experienced a few challenges along the way. The biggest challenge I faced was deciding what angles we wanted to shoot from and how this would relate back to the overall idea of the film. It was a goal of mine to include shots that would have a comedic and dramatic effect, that way the audience would understand the lack of seriousness being made about a serious issue many teenagers face. By filming many close up shots and through the usage of pan shots, I hope the audience will see the overall message of the film clearly: Teens face a lot of laziness and lack of awareness in today's society. I want other students to hopefully reflect on themselves and maybe cope with better habits as a result from seeing my film opening.

Besides the challenges, we both had a really great time coming up with the overall storyline. The order in which we wanted to film each part came one after the other. For example, I knew I wanted to start with a series of events that show the main character's irresponsibility and her inability to maintain relationships with this personal issue. I came up with running out of the house with one shoe and speeding out of the neighborhood in a car. These actions truly represent her character. These ideas also came to me very quickly and easily. By the end of the movie, my partner agreed that we need to make one last major action to fully reveal the issues she faces on a regular basis. That is why we decided on leaving the audience clueless as to why nobody was at the restaurant when she arrived late. Was she at the wrong place? Was she purposely invited to the wrong location because her friend knew she wouldn't be on time? I wanted to leave the audience with the questions to keep them guessing.
