Coming up with the Idea
For my film opening I decided to work with a partner, Lorelai, from my class. I was so excited to start working on the film today and I had so many ideas.

The film will mainly be one person in most of the shots. I will be playing this character throughout the shooting. The opening scene will be in my bedroom where I will wake up and recognize that it is my friend, Abigail's, birthday. I won't take this seriously at first and then later I will realize how late I am going to be. I'm going to quickly rush to the store to get a birthday gift and then quickly to the restaurant where the birthday is supposed to be hosted. My character will soon realize that the table is empty and there is no reservation for that night (I will be able to do this because my sister and friends are hostesses).
My character will clearly display more stress using faster-paced music, and fast camera movement as the main character gets closer and closer to the birthday party. This will hopefully have a worry effect on the audience, making them more suspenseful as they continue watching.
Here's my treatment for my film opening:
In the morning, I wake up, check my calendar and recognize that Abigail's birthday is that day. - "Oh that's today I forgot"
I will then procrastinate and scroll on TikTok without thinking anything of it. - "Just 10 more minutes"
*Two Hours Later* will display on the screen.
Next, I will check the time on my phone and have a shocked expression on my face ( a zoom-in shot and reaction shot will occur here) - "Oh *bleep sound effect*!"
Soon after, I will quickly get up and start getting ready (this will not have any dialogue, but will have dramatic music sound effects).
Then, a shot will include me quickly try to put on left shoe as I'm running out the house to get in my car.
The car ride there will have lobby music for a comedic effect.
When I arrive at Walmart the music will continue as I rush to pick out the birthday gift.
When I exit the store there will be a close up shot of me out of breathe. The music will then stop and I will check the time - "Oh my gosh it starts in one minute!"
The following scene will be of me putting the gift in my passengers seat. Then, an insert shot of my foot slamming on pedal with a speedy sound effect will be included.
A wide shot of the car pulling up in front of the restaurant will be shown, followed by a shot of me running in the restaurant.
Then the following scene will display my conversation with a hostess using an over the shoulder shot.
Me - "Hi, I'm here under a reservation for Abigail"
Hostess - "Okay let me check for you...I'm sorry there's no reservation under that name today."
The camera will then shift from the hostess to the empty table. And I will soon get a notification from my phone of a text message that reads "I'm so excited for Abby's party tomorrow!"
A reaction shot of my face of realization will be shown and then a wide shot of me dropping the present.
The screen will go black as the film ends.
