My Favorite Genres

 Ever since I was a little girl, I've always been OBSESSED with the thrill of horror films. I grew up watching movies like The Ring and Sinister. I love the buildup that these movies typically have that make me nervous about what will happen next.

Although many might have heard of those titles, there are other horror films that are much more recognizable. Corpus horror movies are movies such as Poltergeist, Frankenstein, The Shining, etc. These are the films that were made originally to help structure the scary films that we know today. Other 'core' films, for example, are The Exorcist (1973), Halloween (1978), A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), and Scream (1996).

For my film, I have not personally not had many horrifying experiences, so I don't think I would be great at filming a horror scene for my movie opening. Not only am I not experienced in this genre, I also believe that other genres such as romance or action would be more entertaining and positive to make. For these reasons, I want to make my film opening in the action genre.

I don't know exactly what I want my film opening to look like yet, but I know I would like to film in a setting outside of the house. I want my scene to be all girls to emphasize femininity and empower woman, as majority of the time it is men that are expected to be the main characters in an action movie.
