My "Nights Like This Pt 2" Music Video

Today my teacher assigned my class a project in which students have to make their very own music video. My group decided on making our music video to "Nights Like This Pt. 2" by The Kid LAROI. I really liked our decision with this song, as it is absolutely PERFECT for what I had in mind. Not only do I really just enjoy listening to the song on a regular basis, but I also think it could make a great plot for the music video.

I chose to work with two other students in my class, Katie and Gabriela, to create a music video because I feel it would be much easier with three people working together, rather than if I'd work all by myself. This way, work could be split up into each one of us directing, filming, and editing. Most music videos are typically made with a lot of people anyway.

The beginning of the song has a calming, mellow audio. As the song progresses, the song becomes more intense. When the music changes its beat, I feel like this is a great opportunity for a plot change in the video. The setting of the video will change to a beach location at night and more single shots will be used.

During the video, I want a cross cut scene with a flashback of Katie finding out her boyfriend cheated. People watching will then understand what's going on and the video can resume back to the main scene, which will have a darker brightness and cooler tone to emphasize the sadness.

The song overall talks about being sad while going through a break up. One of my group members, Gabriela, is expected to direct the film. And my other group member, Katie, will be in the video with me. I will play the role as Katie's friend trying to be there for her after she recently found her boyfriend cheating.
