The Story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Today I recently encountered a childhood story that my grandmother used to read EVERY SINGLE NIGHT and I wanted to talk about it. Goldilocks and the Three Bears has been around for centuries and a lot of you guys might be familiar with it, but I'm gonna break it down in some more detail anyway.
So basically, the story starts out with three brown bears living in a calm, average, and quiet household. They have a very orderly routine every night and strictly have their own specific bowls, chairs, and beds. The three bears, including the mom, dad, and baby, go out in the woods for a walk while waiting for their bowls of porridge to cool down (like they do everyday). This shows the 'perfect' little life that these three bears live, without any disruptions. Meanwhile, a young, blonde girl named Goldilocks wonders around curiously in the same forest where the bears live. Upon entering their home after smelling the bowls of porridge, she is seen as innocent, BEFORE she disrupts the bears' home and lives.
Goldilocks actually BREAKS IN the house, and completely rearranges the family's orderly routine. By intruding into their lives, she disrupts the equilibrium that the bears had prior to her invasion. She eats the porridge from each bowl, breaks a chair, and lays down in every bed, causing further disruption to the bears' household and belongings.
Soon after Goldilocks falls asleep, the three bears return back to find their home disturbed. Their bowls of porridge had been eaten out of, their chairs and beds had been used, and Goldilocks was even found by the baby bear sleeping in HIS bed (Goldilocks is awoken by this). She did not apologize, but instead she got scared because she was caught trespassing and ran out of the house to escape.
In the end, the bears just get back to their regular lives and restore everything that Goldilocks had destroyed, despite all the damage she caused. Their routine resumes, like normal, and they go back to the original, peaceful equilibrium in the beginning of the story. Overall, the story positively ends with the three bears going back to their daily lives and living happily ever after--without Goldilocks interrupting again.
